Our History

Our History

The journey of New Era Foundation began in 1999 with a firm commitment to uplift marginalized and underprivileged communities. The organization was founded by Manjur Rahman Biswas, a distinguished politician, freedom fighter, and former Member of Parliament of Bangladesh. His lifelong belief was that sustainable development is only possible when economically disadvantaged people are empowered to secure their own rights and dignity.

Starting with limited resources and facing numerous challenges, New Era Foundation steadily expanded its activities through dedication, resilience, and grassroots engagement. The organization has been actively involved in microfinance services, social development initiatives, women empowerment, and humanitarian assistance to improve the living standards of rural communities.

Through years of hard work, field-level experience, and the trust of the people, New Era Foundation has grown into a strong and well-structured development organization. Today, it operates 20 branches across the Ishwardi and Natore regions, each branch serving as a center of hope, opportunity, and sustainable progress.

New Era Foundation firmly believes that poverty is not a permanent condition. With the right guidance, financial inclusion, and human-centered support, it is possible to transform a family, a community, and ultimately a nation.

Leadership & Gratitude

The continued growth and stability of New Era Foundation in the present day is strongly guided by the leadership of its Director Mostaq Ahmed Kiron and Chief Executive Officer, Md. Shafiqul Islam. His vision, integrity, and tireless efforts have significantly strengthened the organization, making it more dynamic, accountable, and goal-oriented.

We respectfully and gratefully remember the dream and ideals of our founder, Manjur Rahman Biswas, whose legacy continues to inspire every initiative and program of New Era Foundation.
